Hailey's 1st Birthday-Part 1

Hailey had a great 1st birthday! It was Thursday-the 29th. I made her a cake with pink icing and strawberries on it that she throughly enjoyed! Grandma Katherine came over and had a spaghetti dinner with us and cake. She brought both Hailey and Cheyenne gifts. 2 "my little ponies" and 2 Dora the Explorer beanie babies. They loved them! I can't believe my last baby is a year old. The year has really flown by and it makes me sad to think that it's over. She's pretty close to walking lately-really taken an interest in it. I'll post more after her party tomorrow and her stats once we go to her 1 year check-up next week. Enjoy some photos from her big day!

Learning to Walk

Hailey has not had much interest in walking lately. About a month ago she took a few steps here and there and then got sick. Since then she just wants to crawl. Today I was looking back at Cheyenne's photos from around this age and saw that she loved to ride this toy and walk behind it when she was learning to walk. So I got it out for Hailey and sure enough she loved it!! I think this is her favorite thing to do now! Maybe it will help her gain the confidence to start walking soon. She sure is getting heavy to carry around all the time. Chey was 14 months when she finally started. I'm kinda hoping it won't take Hailey that long. I'm ready to see them both running around and playing!

Hailey's 1st PB & J

Hailey had her very 1st PB & J last week. I was making one for Chey and decided Hailey was close enough to a year old that she could have peanut butter. She loved it! You can tell by her face that she did! She was a mess afterward but that's okay. I can't believe my baby is turning 1 this week!

Family Reunion

This past Sunday we had our annual Joyner family reunion. Finally, we held it at our church instead of Grandma's house. There are just so many people that I think this worked out better! It was great to see everyone! Ashley, Ryleigh, myself and Jen

July 4th

We had a packed 4th of July! We started the day by having lunch at Grandma Katherine's. The girls took naps when we got home, well Hailey did, Cheyenne refused her nap. Then spent the afternoon at mom and dad's. It was dad's birthday and mine is today so we always do a joing party/cookout. We swam and even had out the slip n slide. It was a blast!

Fireworks

My 1st attempt at photographing fireworks...
There were power lines right in my field of view. I'm really disappointed about that, but once I finally found a spot to park, I wasn't moving! Here's a few that came out pretty cool!

Lake Norman

Yesterday we spent the day at Lake Norman. William's family has a lake house there. Mr. and Mrs. Starr own it and William has not been there since 1998! I've never been but we were invited up this weekend and I'm so glad we went. The day could not have been more perfect. Hailey took a short nap on the way down and after lunch layed down in their port-a-crib and slept for 2 1/2 hours! By far the longest nap she has ever taken. Chey got to swim in the lake with her 2nd cousins Kate and Caroline and even rode the jet ski with Daddy! Mommy and daddy got to go out for a spin too while Kristy watched Chey and Hailey was still asleep. We then went out on a boat ride and got to see some pretty large homes. We threw over the anchor and went swimming for a little bit too. Cheyenne had a blast and just followed Caroline around everywhere. I hope we get to go back before the end of summer.
