Christmas in Asheville

Friday, William and I left for Asheville. We had decided that for Christmas we would take a weekend trip instead of exchanging gifts since neither of us really want or need anything...except for Ms. Cheyenne to get here. I have never been to Asheville. William lived there from the time he ws 9 when his mom remarried until he graduated from high school and went off to the Navy. He hadn't been back there in almost 16 years. He wanted to see how much had changed and show me the houses he lived in and where he went to school, etc. We also visited Biltmore. He was really crowded but the house is beautiful. I enjoyed it. We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast called the Crooked Oak Mountain Inn. It was amazing. The innkeepers were professional chefs before they opened the B & B. The breakfast they made for us was amazing! I don't know if I'll ever stay in another hotel again, we've had such great luck with B & B's.

On another note, we're now 33 weeks along. Just 7 weeks until our due date of Feb. 2. I've started training my replacement at work and will now have a little more flexibility until I leave, which I am excited about. Cheyenne is pretty active lately. We can lay in bed and just watch her kicking and punching. It's really cool. She'll be here soon!

Babyshower!

Sunday Mom, Jen, and Katie gave me and Cheyenne shower! We got alot of great things that we'll need. A car seat, clothes, diapers, etc. We've got a good start now. This is week 32. Only 8 more to go. The nervous is starting to set in. William went to the Carolina Panther's game while I was at the shower, but he played with all the stuff when he got home. He's so excited.

3D/4D Ultrasound!

Today William and I went to Tiny Toes Prenatal Imaging. I kept seeing advertisments for 3D ultrasounds and it looked so cool, but I was worried that he wouldn't be good for Cheyenne. I talked to my doctor and he assured me that it was perfectly safe. So I scheduled an appointment and we went today. It was so cool! Cheyenne didn't want to cooperate. She was hiding her face for most of the session. We did get some good shots though. The technician gave me a couple hershey kisses and some juice to try to get her a little active but she was just being shy... She is in the breach position with her legs pulled into to her chest.

29 Weeks!

We are now 29 weeks along. Only 11 more to go! It's really going fast. William has been very ill this week, since Monday evening. He's finally getting better, and it's Saturday. Luckily, I didn't catch anything...yet. Baby Cheyenne is doing just fine. Loves to kick and punch early in the morning and at night. I can eat a little piece of chocolate or something and she really peps up. We got the nursery all done. We got our glider and a dresser/changing table. It looks so homey now! I'm starting to get really excited...and nervous, especially after they showed "the video" at childbirth class this week. William missed it since he was sick. My mom went with me. I was so glad to have her with me. She was really amused by all the dad's faces during the video.

Happy Halloween!

Tonight, William painted my belly as a pumpkin. I think he did a good job considering that this was his first time attempting such a task. This Saturday will make 27 weeks. Only 13 weeks left! We can't wait for her to get here. We start childbirth class next Wednesday. I'm really excited about that, though I think William has mixed emotions. I think he's afraid of what he'll learn! Better in class, then in the delivery room! There's a lot coming up in the next couple of months. There's Thanksgiving and mom and my sisters are giving me a baby shower Dec. 2. I'm really excited about that! Then Christmas and Cheyenne will be here sometime the end of January/early February! It's going to go by fast! Happy Halloween from our little pumpkin!

25 Weeks and 12 lbs later....

Last night William and I went to Babies R Us and got one of those things that you're supposed to be able to hear your baby's heartbeat, kicks, hiccups, etc. We were able to hear the kicks since she was going crazy in there. She usually does at night. No heartbeat yet though. It says its for use starting in the 3rd trimester. I'm still a couple of weeks away, so we'll keep trying. The other pic is of Loki on my belly. He's is so protective of me and he's really showing here! I wonder if he'll be the same way with Cheyenne.... The 3rd pic is my 25 week pic. I can't believe how big my belly is getting. It's like it's happened overnight. Only 15 more weeks to go!

Painting the Nursery

Wednesday William and I painted the nursery. The color is called lavender whisper. We love it! Also here is the crib that William put together and the crib set that I bought to go on it. I can't wait until Cheyenne is here. I'm going shopping tomorrow for some pictures or something to put up on the walls. Is it Feb 2 yet????

"Babymoon"

Here are a few pictures from our "Babymoon." We decided that we wanted to take one last trip as a "couple" before Cheyenne comes. We had so much fun! We took a cruise on the Carnival Valor and visited Nassau, Bahamas, St. Thomas, V.I, and St. Maarten, F.W.I. They were all beautiful! It was really hot and humid though. We tried to stay near water when possible. I was a little uncomfortable being 5 1/2 months pregnant...especially the plane ride. But I'm really glad we did this. I plan on staying at home with Cheyenne so we're going to be taking a financial cut and going to have to change a few things. We figure the next vacation we'll take is to Disney World in 5-7 years. So this was good for us. We're glad to be home though. We had a little problem when we got back into Raleigh at the airport. Apparently we had left the GPS unit plugged in and it killed the battery so we had to call roadside assistance and waited an hour to get on the road. We finally got home around 6:30 last night.
Besides that I am now 22 weeks along. It's going by really fast.

Work, Work, Work

William, Mom, Dad, John and myself worked our butts off this weekend! William and I currently have a storage unit that we have our 4-wheeler in and other misc. stuff that we can't fit into the condo. We are now going to have to get a climate controlled one to put things in to make room for the baby. So instead of having 2 storage units, we decided that we would go ahead and build one that we could later move to our yard when we get a house. The weather was good this weekend. Not too hot. We almost got done. We just have to finish putting in the gables and put the garage and regular door on. Hopefully we can do that sometime this week. It's going to be great having this.

It's a Girl!

Finally, we're halfway there! 2o weeks! William and I found out last Monday that our little "Pepper" was really a girl! We are thrilled! Her name will be Cheyenne Grace Hollifield. I know this ultrasound pic is not really good. My scanner at home doesn't work and I have no idea how to use this monsterous one at work. So I took a picture of a picture! The belly is getting bigger...it's hard to bend over cause it's in the way. I've started to feel her a lot. She loves to flip around between 9-11 in the morning and 7:30-10 at night. That's when I feel her doing flips and dancing or whatever she's doing. It's amazing! I can't wait until she's here. Sunday, William and I will leave for our cruise. We figure the next vacation we'll be taking is to Disney World in 5-10 years. So this is officially our babymoon. Of course William has stated that he's going to make up for what I can't drink so I should have some interesting pictures when we get back!

17 Weeks

Here is a pic of my belly at 17 weeks. We're almost halfway there! I go to the doctor Sept 10 for an ultrasound. They should be able to tell the sex of the baby then. William is on the fence about whether we're going to find out. I'm working hard to convince him to find out! I really want to know with the first. Everything with the pregnancy is going well so far..only a couple minor scares.
