Cheyenne and Great Grandma

William, Cheyenne and I went to my parent's house for dinner last night. My nanny came too. We don't see her very often and we really enjoyed being with her. Here is Cheyenne and her Great Grandma...my nanny.

3 months

Cheyenne is 3 months old now. She can hold her head up really well and is settling into a routine. She absolutely loves sleeping in her crib, doesn't really like to sleep anywhere else. This makes it really hard for mommy to get out and about during the day..but we're working on it. Here is a picture of her and I being silly, and one of her playing in the Exersaucer. She's still too little for it...so I put a blanket behind her to help stabilize her. She seemed to enjoy it! She's just about too big for her bouncy seat so I've got to get her used to sitting/playing in different things. We don't usually get many comments....if you're viewing the site, let us know!

New stuff...

Here is a few random pictures. Cheyenne has given up her paci so I've replaced it with a lovie that she sleeps with. ( I was having to get up 10+ times a night to replug her-so we went cold turkey and threw them all out) The first day didn't go as bad as I expected, since she only used them to sleep anyway. She's learning to sleep without it. We also got her a Bumbo seat...it helps her sit up..maybe it will help her sit up on her own sooner? I don't know..I just know she is starting to not like her bouncy seat. She is also babbling alot more these days..saying things that sound like "Q" and "ahh goo." It's really cool to hear.

We did have a scare the other night. Our condo building was evacuated at 1am. I heard alot of firetrucks and then there was a banging on our door. It was our neighbor saying that there was a gas leak and a fire and we had to evacuate. I grabbed Cheyenne and went running out the door. (This is 1am mind you!) We got outside and learned that there was a Time Warner Cable worker digging at the back of our building that night and cut into the gas line. The fire broke out. It was about 10-15 feet from the building. It burned for a few hours because the gas company couldn't find the switch to turn it off. I took Cheyenne and went to my moms after being in the back of an EMS truck for 2 hours. William stayed behind and was finally let back in around 4:30am. No damage was done to the building and everyone is okay. We're just all wondering why they were digging at 1am?

Some pics from the wedding

Here are a couple of pics from the wedding that my dad sent me. I should be getting some more soon from a couple of people and I'll post them too.

Katie posing... Isn't that the most awesome cake ever?!? It tasted really good too.

It's finally over

Cheyenne's 3 month growth spurt is finally over. They say that it's the worst one... Finally Friday night she slept a 6 hr stretch again and 7 hrs on Saturday night. She's also napping well again. I'll definetly be more prepared for the next one. No one tells you about these things!

Looks like Cheyenne will have a little cousin soon. My sister Jenny is pregnant! We are so excited for her. It will be great for Cheyenne to have a cousin so close to her age to play with over the next several years.
My mom bought this shirt for Cheyenne. It says "Grandma has all the answers." It looks so cute on her. Cheyenne is starting to babble. She imitates a few of the sounds that William and I do. It's so cool. I can't wait for her to say her first word...which will probably be "da-da." She is holding her head up really well now and pushes down with her legs when we stand her up. Before long she'll be sitting by herself...then mobility comes.....

Rolling Over

Cheyenne has learned to roll over! But she's also going through the 3 month growth spurt and she's been the devil. She's eating constantly and she won't sleep. I bet I got up 15 times last night, 3 of which to feed her. She's never had this problem! She'll usually sleep a good 5-6 hr stretch before needing to eat at night. Naps today have been awful as well, so she's been really overtired so she's cried all day. William actually came home from work at 9:30 to help me because I was losing my mind...after now having any sleep. The only nap she got today was him holding her for 2 hrs. She's always been able to go down in her crib and fall alseep. I hope that's all this is and it ends SOON! I miss my baby! But we are super excited that she has started rolling over. She's growing up fast!

Sweet sleeping baby

Cheyenne is doing great with her sleep training. She is doing well during her naps and averages 6-7 hrs straight at night, only up for 1 feeding and then back to sleep for 2-3 hrs until she gets up for the day between 7-7:30am. She has found her fingers too. She has stopped taking her binky as much and prefers her fingers, when she can get to them. I'm so proud of her. She is 2 1/2 months old and sleeps through the night. What more can a mother ask for?

Mommy and Cheyenne on the beach.
We left Thursday for Oak Island for Jenny and Josh's wedding. It was a great weekend! The weather was fair. Cloudy mostly and rained some. It looked like storms for the day of the wedding so it got moved from the beach to the Chapel. It ended up not raining a drop until after the reception was over. But I guess that's the chance you take...same thing happened to William and I at our wedding. It was supposed to be on the beach but a huge storm came through a couple hours before and ruined the beach. Then it cleared up. It was still beautiful and so was Jenny's. I think it actually was better than if it would have been on the beach. The reception was at held at St. James Plantation, The Members Club. It was a lot of fun and Cheyenne did great through the whole thing. She was quiet during the wedding. Deanna held her since William was video taping it and I was a bridesmaid. We stayed at the reception until Jen and Josh did their first dance and cut the cake. She was awake for about 5 1/2 hrs straight and she did so well. We left early because it just wasn't fair to her to keep her up any longer. She was passed around a lot and it was loud, but she didn't crack until we got half way back to the house. But we got back and I fed her and put her to bed and she slept until 4:30 am, fed her and then she slept until 8. She was tired!
Jenny was a beautiful bride. I know they are so happy! The reception was amazing and dad didn't even embarrass her during his speech. I was proud of him. If you know our dad, he likes to embarrass his daughters every chance he gets, but he was good.
This morning, mom , dad, Katie, Victoria, William, Cheyenne and I drove to Wilmington and ate at Rucker John's! We make a stop there whenever we're close or were at the beach. We got home around 5ish and got a lot of unpacking to do... Tomorrow it's back to the grind...

Lots of stuff happening...

William gave Cheyenne a bath for the first time. She loved it. I don't think she cares who gives her her bath as long as she gets one. In other news, Cheyenne has learned how to self soothe and fall asleep on her own. I have been working diligently on this for weeks and we moved her to her crib over the weekend. She was resistant for a couple of nights, but now she loves it and seems comfortable there. We're leaving for Oak Island tomorrow for the wedding, and she'll be back to sleeping in the travel bassinet/play yard. I hope she's able to make the transistion back and then back to the crib when we get home.

She went to the doctor today for her 2 month check up. She weighs 13 lbs 6 1/2 ounces and is 23 1/4 inches long. She's really growing! She's just about doubled in weight since birth. She also had some immunizations today. She really didn't like those shots! But she fell asleep afterwards and is sleeping now. She'll be just fine. We'll post pics from Oak Island when we get back!
