Katie and Bradley

Katie and Bradley were kind of enough to do a photoshoot with me yesterday. I needed some portfolio material in the "couples" area. They were naturals. I think Katie has found her other half. You could just see it in the way he looks at her. She has really found a keeper. So happy for you Katie. Thanks guys!

Beaufort Trip

We took the girls to Beaufort for the weekend. Carol called on Wednesday and offered us the house and we didn't have any plans so we went for it! The girls did great traveling. I couldn't have asked for them to be any better. We drove William's truck so we would have the DVD player and it was on for about half the trip. We walked the waterfront and went out to dinner both nights. Saturday around lunchtime we took them to Fort Macon and let them play on the beach for a while. Cheyenne had a blast and would have loved to stay longer but all Hailey was doing was eating sand and it was pretty windy. Hailey just isn't a good age for the beach yet. Since she's mobile but not yet walking her hands and face are just in the sand. It was good to get away, but any "vacation" with kids, isn't a vacation. We were so worn out when we got home. But we had a good trip. I hope to go back towards the end of summer maybe when it cools down. Hailey should be a good age then. Here are some favorites from the trip. Enjoy!

I like this because I can be a little more personable and show some of my favorites from current shoots as well as provide general pricing and special offers.

Sheena's Bridal Portrait Session {Images by Autumn}

I know our families read my blog so I wanted to share with you just a few of the photos from Sheena's Bridal session! Enjoy!

Amazing

SO yesterday Hailey was in bed at 6:30 since she only napped 30 minutes all day. (She slept until 7 this morning!) William left and went for his run about 6:30, Cheyenne and I took a shower and then I let her watch Dora while I edited Sheena's Bridal portraits (which I'll have a couple for you to see soon!). At 8:00, her normal bedtime, I went to get her from the living room and go brush her teeth and put her to bed. I couldn't find her. I walked upstairs and found her in her bed, asleep. Talk about shocked. Here lately she has been fighting bedtime somewhat. While I was putting Hailey to bed I had William take her outside and really try to wear her out. They ran around kicking balls, climbing on the playset etc. She must have been tired. Sweet girl. She has been really good for the last 3-4 days. I hope it sticks around.

Finally

For the past 4-5 days Hailey has been sooooo cranky. Naps are no longer than 30 minutes and I can hardly put her down during the day without her screaming. I knew she was teething and I alternated motrin and tylenol as well as tried orajel. NOTHING seemed to help. Finally today I noticed that a top tooth has cut. They usually come in pairs so looks like we are waiting on the other top one to come through. I've never seen a kid have so much trouble with teething. When I say the last few days have been rough, you don't know the half of it!! But I'm glad I can explain her mood now.. ha

Spinning

I headed to the gym this morning with the girls while William got some things done. I dropped the girls off at the play center and started towards the stairmasters. I saw that some people were waiting for a class to start. It was the spin class. If you're not familiar with the term, it's basically like riding a bike, you just don't go anywhere. I saw a girl I went to high school with waiting and talked to her for a minute about it. Sounded pretty intense. I thought I'd give it a try. After 5 minutes my legs were screaming at me! It was hard! I made it until 39 minutes until the daycare lady come to get me to tell me that Hailey had a dirty diaper. For some reason, they are not allowed to change diapers... The class was 90 minutes long. They are normally 45 minutes but on Saturday mornings it is 90 minutes. I don't know that I could have gone the entire 90 minutes! 45 I could handle probably. Let's just say that when I left my legs felt like jello and I literally had sweat pouring off of me. I have never had that happen before. I usually get sweaty but not like this! When I got off the bike it said I had rode 12.5 miles and burned 534 calories. Wow! I really liked the group setting with the instructor up there riding too tell you to "dig deep, push harder, turn your resistance a half a turn, stand up, go!" Wow, I couldn't have pushed through the pain unless there had been all those people in there watching... I was embarassed to get off when I did, but I had to because of Hailey. The music was loud and I just got into a zone. This was a great way to burn some calories. I'm looking forward to next Saturday when I can attempt again.

The Rush

I joined The Rush yesterday. If you're not familiar with it, it's a gym here. I don't know if it's just a NC thing or if they've gone nationwide. Anyway, I LOVE it! They have an awesome daycare. I hate that word, daycare. It's a called a Kidz Zone. They have a huge playplace area for Cheyenne and a seperate section for babies and toddlers. I was really nervous about taking them this morning. Mainly Hailey. I knew Chey would be fine. I signed them in and went and worked out for about an hour. When I came back they both were all smiles. The ladies said Hailey did great! Played in the floor and just giggled. I was so relieved. I chose The Rush because I was really impressed with how clean they are. I thoroughly checked out the kids area and watched them for a while to see how they interacted with the children, etc. I really liked it. It felt great to get my workout in first thing in the morning and not have to do 10 minutes here, 5 minutes there, 15 minutes here whenever I could squeeze a little in.

I had to do it when the girls were napping or when Hailey would stay in the excersaucer for a few minutes. She hates being confined lately. She is crawling all over the place and is even trying to stand on her own. She pulls up on things like a champ but has been attemping to let go. She'll be walking early, I'm sure of it. I do take the girls for a walk just about everyday in the stroller but its usually not long, especially since all this pollen has started. It really bothers Hailey so I've been limiting her outdoor time. I did the month to month instead of a long contract. I hate being locked into something because life happens and I don't know whats going to be going on 1-2 years from now. So we'll see how it goes, but I really like the fact that I can take the girls with me and do my weight training and some cardio! I'll still squeeze in as much cardio as I can at home so the girls don't have to be in there any longer than they have to. Although I think Chey would stay all day. That play thing is really cool! It looks like one of those things you would see at McDonalds or Chick-fil-a. 18 lbs down, about 20 more to go and I'll be happy. I'll keep you posted!

Pollywog in a Bog

My friend Kristie shared this with me tonight and Cheyenne LOVED it! She has watched it 4 times already and is just dancing to it. She just zones out. I'll be using this when I need a couple of minutes to recompose. Enjoy! Thanks Kristie!

Easter 2010

We spent Easter morning at Katherine's house where Chey got to hunt eggs! We had lunch with Grandma Katherine and took lots of pictures. We then did naps and headed over to Nana and Poppa's. We grilled out some chicken and had lots of fun finding eggs with cousin Emma!

Dyeing Eggs

Cheyenne and I dyed eggs while Hailey napped on Thursday. It was a real experience. Chey kept wanting to drink the dyed water, thinking it was juice. Silly girl. She actually did pretty well with this project and was very proud of her eggs afterward!

Egg Hunt

Saturday I took Cheyenne to Daimen's birthday party/egg hunt. It was at my Grandma Lucie's. She had a ball! She loved finding eggs, although she kept stopping to open them to see if there were ant goodies inside.
