Big Pig Fest 2010

Our friends Jason and Kristie hosted what they named "Big Pig Fest" this year. Jason ( a veterinarian) went and purchased a pig, had it slaughtered and dressed and borrowed the cooker from Starr Electric (William's work) and cooked it Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. This was a huge party! Everyone brought a side. There was so much food! They had the bounce house set up for the kids, a bluegrass band, cornhole and homemade beer from a neighbor. It was a success! We had a great time. Hailey stayed with mom and dad last night because it would have been too hot and chaotic for her, but Chey had a blast. She didn't slow down the whole time. I couldn't even get her to sit still and eat. I think the plan is to make this an annual thing. It was fun!

Chey's Last Day of Preschool

Today is Chey's last day of preschool until the fall. Her teachers Mrs Wanda (left) and Mrs Tara (right) have been amazing and taught her so much. I know she is going to miss them over the summer!

No Use Crying Over Spilled Milk

I went to put a load of laundry in and then came back downstairs to find this...
Apparently Chey can get into the fridge by herself now...

Hello Summer

Tomorrow is Cheyenne's last day of school until September, so for us, summer if officially here! Ahh the days of playing in the pool, going to the park, blowing bubbles and eating icies. Summer we sure did miss you! Welcome back!

Mommy Gives Chey a Haircut

Yesterday at mom's I noticed how long and raggedy Chey's hair was getting. So I thought, "hey I can cut her hair." I mean after all her hair is so curly that if in fact I didn't get it straight, would you really notice?? No.. not at all. She did NOT sit still at all but I think I did a good job. This morning I combed it and it's so darn cute! I'll get a picture of it soon. She's gone right night with Katie to the Natural Science Center. It's short though! She looks different!

Lunch at the Park

Last summer Cheyenne and I met William at the park all the time for lunch. We did it for the first time this summer on Friday. William picked up Subway and the girls got to swing and play for a while...until the school group showed up with over 50 kids and just bombarded the playground. It was too crowded and I was afraid Chey was going to get hurt with all those kids. But we had a blast seeing daddy during the day!

Pudding Painting

If you remember, way back when Cheyenne was about this age, I let her "paint with pudding" in the tub. The other day was rainy and we were stuck inside. Hailey finally got her turn at it! She loved it! Although I think she ate more than she painted... don't worry it's sugar and fat free!

The Post In Which I Rant and Rave About How Busy I've Been

Yes its true...I, well WE have been super busy! First, Images by Autumn is doing very well! I have been have photoshoots just about every weekend and even shot my cousin's Sheena's wedding this Saturday. That was a VERY long day. I started at 1:45 and left the church at 10:00. My feet were killing me by the end of the night. I had so much fun though. I had a few people tell me what I good job I was doing, making the guests feel comfortable and not in people's faces constantly. 2 people even said I looked "right in my element." I felt it. That's where I belong, behind the camera. I have another wedding lined for the fall and possibly another next month. Just waiting to hear back from the couple. Thanks to everyone for your support and encouragement!

On a less happy note, both girls are sick. Hailey really actually hasn't been right since we got back from Pawley's Island. But she's been miserable for the last 3-4 days. She can't breathe because she is so snotty and she just cries when she's awake. She went to bed tonite at 6:30 and at 7:10 she was up screaming. It took me until 9:00 to get her to calm down and back to sleep. She's had a fever last night and today. I did take her to the doctor and they said it was just a cold. If she's not doing a little better tomorrow, I'm taking her back. But to a different doctor! Jen and I both use the same pediatrican's office and we're both fed up with them. They are overbooked with patients my doctor is leaving anyway to go back to school. So yesterday I transferred them to another doctor's office. I hope and pray this one is alot better. At least at this new one I can walk in without an appointment and try to get worked in.

William and I went out last night to the Grasshoppers baseball game to celebrate our friend Jason's birthday. A couple of girls in our neighborhood (they're twins) watched Cheyenne and put her to bed (Hailey was already in bed when we left). 5 minutes after we got home Cheyenne woke up crying. She had a fever sure enough. She's been okay today, just snotty and a little scratchy throat but in good spirits. It's so much easier when they're older and can tell you whats wrong!

Cheyenne will have her last day of preschool next week until the fall. I'm looking forward to not having to be at "a certain place at a certain time" but it will be a challenge to keep her occupied all summer! I do have a girl in the neighborhood lined up to come over from 9-11:30 two mornings a week to help out and play with the kids so I can get some things done. Not like it's a break or anything. There is laundry to do, dishes to do, etc.

William's birthday is coming up. Have no idea what I'm doing for him yet. I am taking him to dinner at Fire & Sticks, his favorite place in the whole world. We haven't been literally in MONTHS because we've been on our diet (which was going so well but we've got to get back to it.) I haven't lost any more weight but I'm down another size. I've been doing some weights and resistance training at the gym so I must be toning up. :) Anyway, I'm got a fun post planned for tomorrow if I have time. You won't want to miss it!

Hailey 9 Months

I took Hailey for her 9 month appointment this week. My baby girl is weighing in at 21 lbs 10 oz! Wow! She is 28 1/4" long. She's really growing! Hailey is crawling all over the place now and does NOT like to be confined in her exersaucer at all. She loved to crawl over to the cats water and food bowls and play. We learned to put it up out of her reach after 3 days of saying "no Hailey!" She is the sweetest thing, that is when she sleeps. Since we've been home from Pawley's Island over a week ago, Hailey wakes between 4:30 and 5:30 each morning. The last couple of days her naps have gotten pretty bad as well. I know she is so overtired and I'm trying to break the cycle but it's hard. Hopefully soon she'll go back to being a good sleeper. I miss it!

She finally has her top 2 teeth so she has 4 total now! She's getting lots of hair and she just melts out hearts! Happy 9 months Hailey! You'll be a year old before we know it!

Lately...

So things have been pretty crazy round here lately. Last week we were gone to Pawley's Island, well, actually Garden City Beach to visit with William's dad and Camilla. I'm not going to lie, it was rough. The days were good. The girls, especially Cheyenne, LOVED the beach and they napped great. The girls shared a room and Hailey woke between 4:30-5am each morning. It made for an unhappy momma and a very LONG day. But we got through it, and had lots of fun catching up with "Papa and Gigi." Hailey crawled around in the surf and well, Cheyenne crawled around in the sand. She was a mess when we went to go inside. There was sand in her hair for days... We've been home since Saturday and Hailey is STILL waking up super early. Which as you can imagine is making for an even unhappier mama. I ended up taking her to the doctor today to see if there was something going on with her. She does have a red throat with some white patches but I don't think that it's entirely to blame. I think that she's hitting that phase of needing a lil "sleep training." Not fun. Cheyenne has been great though! I even commented to William this morning that she was my favorite child at the moment. Ha! She's the one that is sleeping... of course I'm kidding. (well, kind of) Then there's William. Oh where to start...

I ended up taking him to Urgent Care on Monday night. He started choking during dinner but not on food. It was like his throat was spasming and closing up. He did this for about 8 hours before it finally stopped. They sent us over to the ER because urgent care couldn't figure out what was wrong. He couldn't swallow and when he tried he started gagging and choking. After a very long night he went to a specialist on Tuesday and they've set him up for a x-ray of his esophagus. He's got to drink a barium drink and swallow a tablet to help light it up or something. I don't understand it all. Hopefully we'll find out what caused this. It was scary to watch!

In other news, Images by Autumn is doing great! Thanks to some referrals from previous clients I've got several photo shoots lined up as well as a wedding booked in the fall! I feel so blessed to be able to live my dream. Thanks everyone for your support and keep em coming!

I'll have pics up soon from our trip. I've just finished editing my photoshoot with Josie at Old Salem from this weekend so now I'll work on personal stuff. Until next time!
