Cheyenne's 1st Time In The Hot Tub

This morning while Hailey was napping, Cheyenne and I got in the hot tub. I turned the temperature down to about 97 so it would be okay for her. She loved it! She liked putting her feet on the jets. Since we got out she's been saying "hot tub mommy!"

Jumperoo

This morning I tried Hailey out in the excersaucer. It's way too big for her. But this jumperoo that John and Connie gave us is perfect. The seat is smaller and she fits in it just fine. She loved looking at all the colors. I can see this will be a favorite.

What Was She Thinkin?

I guess she thinks she's not too big for the excersaucer!

Carving a Pumpkin

While William was messing around with the hot tub and Hailey was napping, Cheyenne and I carved a pumpkin. Well I carved a pumpkin and Cheyenne watched. Last year she loved playing in the "guts" (the seeds and all). This year all she could do was say "eeewwww." So she was absolutely no help! We are so excited about Halloween!

Hot Tub!

Our hot tub finally is here! It arrived around 10 am and the electricity was hooked up around 2:00. We filled it with water and began heating it around 4. It is currently up to 85 degrees and William is adding the chemicals. Maybe, just maybe it will be warm enough by 10:00 or so to get in.

3 Months!

Hailey is 3 months old! My how time flies. I cannot believe it. I have no idea how much she weighs. She doesn't have a well check this month. But when she had her ears checked last week she was 13 lbs. Alot has changed since last month. First off, Hailey is drooling like crazy! This has just started the last few days. Cheyenne had her 1st tooth at 4 months so I wonder if Hailey will be the same. She is always in such a good mood. She'll just laugh and smile at you! She has started becoming distracted when nursing. This drove me insane when Cheyenne was nursing. I'm learning to just go with it. She'll eat eventually.

Our routine is beginning to look the same each day. She'll wake between 7 and 7:30 in the morning and we do our 1st feed of the day. After about an hour and a half she's ready for a nap. We're starting to stretch out her feeds from 3 hrs to 3 1/2 so that by 4 months she'll hopefully be going 4 hrs between feeds. This pretty much repeats throughout the day. I try really hard to line up Cheyenne's afternoon nap with Hailey's so I at least have 30 minutes to myself. Some days everything just "clicks." Other days (like today) nothing goes right, but you just gotta go with it until bedtime and just hope the next day goes better. Hailey is usually in bed asleep between 7-7:30 pm and Chey at 8:00. It's so nice! Hailey's longest stretch of sleep so far is 9 1/2 hours! Amazing! She does between 7 1/2- 8 1/2 hrs consistently. She'll eat when she wakes around 4am and then will go back to sleep. I am so thankful that she is a wonderful night sleeper! Of course around 4 months is when things went sour with Cheyenne, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Hailey has rolled over (about 2 weeks ago was the 1st time). When sitting in her bouncy seat she raises her head and tries to sit up! She wants to see the world!

She has had 4 ear infections in her 3 months and pretty m uch an ongoing cold. She's been somewhat congested since about 3 weeks old. This last ear infection was pretty rough but has been clear since! She is a pretty good baby thus far!

New Bed

Cheyenne cheesin with "pup pup" Chey's new bed

Yes again. The toddler bed just wasn't working out. Several times a night, Chey was rolling out of it. She would climb back in and go to sleep but I hated that she was rolling out constantly. She is such an active sleeper, moving around so much. Dad helps me move the queen bed we had back upstairs into her room. She slept in it last night and did wonderful. We do have safety rails on the side, as you can see in the picture. I layed them down so you could see her beautiful bedding! It's got dragonflies on it and goes perfectly with her lavender room.

Chey and Her Friends

Here is Cheyenne with her friends David and Maggie. These 3 along with Hailey and Gavin when they get older are going to be great playmates!

Kids Say The Darnest Things

Cheyenne can reach whats on top of the kitchen counters now so I have to be careful what I leave out. Well, as I type, she has gotten ahold of my breast pump is walking around with it stuck to her belly saying "I pumpin' mommy." Kids say the darnest things...

Pickin' a Pumpkin

Last Friday afternoon we took the girls to get a pumpkin. Chey had a ball running around trying to pick them all up. She finally found one her size that she could pick up. We'll carve our big one closer to Halloween.

You Know You're A Stay At Home/New Parent When...

I stole this from Baby Jonah's blog http://patriceandmattwilliams.blogspot.com/ I just had to laugh through it because it's so true! I definetly like Joe better on Blues Clues and I hate "Puzzle Time!"

10. A trip "all the way across town" to the mall sounds as challenging as a trip across the country.
9. You hear yourself whining and saying things like, "Oh man. This is the exact same episode of Wonder Pets they showed yesterday," and "Ugh. I hate Puzzle Time."
8. You have a very strong preference between Steve and Joe from Blue's Clues.
7. Breakfast consists of a Diet DP and a Fudge Round. Lunch is some Honey BBQ Fritos and the Halloween candy your husband encouraged you to get way early (bad idea), and dinner is something somebody else better be figuring out because a certain little someone only slept twenty minutes total that day.
6. Movie watching is a lost art because sleep is just more important. Although Netflix only costs $9.60 a month, you've had the same movie for four months. The cost of that one movie alone is almost $40 and counting.
5. You are so used to having to pee with the door open, you have to be really careful when company comes over that you don't share a little too much.
4. Eco-Rangers, Moose and Zee, from Noggin are the ones who've convicted you to be more energy efficient.
3. Your friend says, "Have you heard that new song, __________?" and you think to yourself that unless it's sung by The Backyardigans, you most certainly have not heard it.
2. You have regular conversations with your dog, and of the two of you, he is definitely the more interesting one.
1. You get to hang out with the most amazing little girls all day...

Sleeping Babes

Hailey- napping every 1 1/2 hours for 1 1/2-2 hrs. Slept 9 1/2 straight hrs last night! Yay!! 11 weeks old Cheyenne likes to nap in the floor for some reason. Her bed is right beside her. Whatever floats her boat! Chey takes 1 nap from 1-3 and sleeps from 8:15pm or so to 7:30am. She's a great sleeper!

Dixie Classic Fair

I really wanted to take Cheyenne to the fair this weekend. We left the house yesterday around 3:30 to go and stopped on the way to get some cash from an ATM. William's card wouldn't work, we think the card's strip has been worn out. I didn't have mine and by the time we went back home, etc it would have been too late to go. We decided to go 1st thing this morning, when it opened at 9am. There was absolutely no traffic and we got to park right at the gate! Yay! There wasn't much Cheyenne could ride but we did find a few things. We just had to get a funnel cake too! Hailey slept in the Moby for most of it, until I had to feed her then she just looked around at everything. It went suprisingly well. We stopped at McDonald's on the way back and got Chey a happy meal since it was past lunch time. She did great and had so much fun. I'm looking forward to next year when she can do more.

Hailey want to look around. Daddy and Cheyenne on the Super Slide!

"Whee!"

Riding the Wiggle Worm, William said this one wore him out!

Intrigued with the string?

Chey got to ride the firetruck all by herself!

1st Ferris Wheel ride!

Mommy and Hailey got to ride the Ferris Wheel too!

Park!

We had plans to go to the Dixie Classic Fair tonight, but our plans got changed... we ended up taking the girls to the park for a little while.

Cheyenne in the car all ready to go! Hailey snug in the Moby
Swingin!

Giving Daddy a high five!

Yet another one...

I took Hailey for her 2 month checkup on Wednesday and the doctor found that her right ear was infected (yes again!) I never would have known. She did still have congestion and it went from being a runny nose to thick and green. Yuck, I know. He prescribed another anitbiotic, Augmentin. According to my sister-in-law Jessica, who is a doctor with Moses Cone, it's some pretty rough stuff. It really messes with the G.I. tract. Well Wednesday night, Hailey vomited, twice all over me. My thinking was that it was the Augmentin causing it. The next day I talked to a nurse and she seemed to think it was a combination of everything she got Wednesday (4 vaccines + antibiotic for ear infection). She told me to split up the doses of the antibiotic so there wasn't so much in her system at a time. So far it's working. She hasn't vomited since that night. She seems to be feeling alot better. The downside? The Augmentin is giving her terrible gas!!! The last few days she had been napping GREAT. Didn't have to go in and re-plug her paci but maybe once or twice all day and was taking solid 1 1/2 hour naps. Today has been awful. She's waking 3 or 4 times during her naps just trying to push that gas out. And she's got 7 more days of the antibiotic!! Ugghh. Hopefully after this she'll be all better, finally. Poor girl.

Morning Outside With The Girls

Suncatchers

Chey painting a butterfly The finished product

Last week while Chey was at school I made a trip to Michael's and got lots of craft stuff to do with Cheyenne on days we're stuck inside or need something new to do. This morning I got out a suncatcher to paint. I loved doing these when I was young. Cheyenne loved it so much that she cried when it was done and we had to put it up.

Talking with Cheyenne

Here is Cheyenne and I talking about family members. Her annunciation is getting so much better! She is at such an awesome age. She's able to do and say so much now. Today we have ate lunch outside at her picnic table! This afternoon we went back out there and took her coloring book, crayons and juice boxes and had a great time coloring. The weather is just so beautiful!
